Memorial Day 2014

A beautiful sun drenched morning greeted citizens as they gathered to honor America’s fallen. The ceremony at Santa Rosa Memorial Park has always been a moving and beautiful Memorial Day tribute with the Avenue of Flags. This year also featured an acknowledgement of Gold Star. American Legion Post 21 and Marine Corps League Detachment 686 were the hosts of this year’s event. This year’s Memorial Day gathering honored Jesse Love, a Pearl Harbor survivor and WWII vet, and Hattie Stone, a US Coast Guard WWII Wave.

PETALUMA: A Purple Heart City

The City of Petaluma, CA, became a Purple Heart City by proclamation and ceremony Friday, May 23, 2014. The pre-Memorial Day ceremony recognized Petaluma's recent designation as a Purple Heart City and to thank veterans for their service to the country.

2014 Rose Parade

20th Annual Luther Burbank Rose Parade, Saturday, May 17, 2014 The Luther Burbank Rose Parade and Festival is one of Sonoma County’s most honored traditions and one of the oldest and largest events of its kind in Northern California. This year the Luther Burbank Rose Parade was celebrated with the theme of "Heroes and Helpers," honoring all of those people that have made a difference in our community.
