Vets Take The Lead In CA Wildfires Assistance

VVA Chapter 223 along with partner veteran organizations including Amvets Post 40, and Healdsburg VFW Post 768 have collected and distributed over $25,000 in assistance to those affected by the Northern California Wildfires. When the Red Cross became overwhelmed at the Veterans Memorial Building in Santa Rosa these veteran organizations stepped up to take a leadership role in managing and handling the relief assistance. Now that the building is closed as an Evacuation Center these same groups will continue to identify those in need and make sure people do not fall through the cracks.
